While you are on maternity leave, it is a great time to explore ways to earn some extra income without leaving the comfort of your home, because let’s face it…maternity pay is not very much is it! Lets explore some easy and accessible ways to make money online during maternity leave starting today. I will cover popular options such as paid surveys and affiliate marketing, as well as lesser known options such as using Benable and joining Neal’s Yard Remedies. Let’s get started with paid surveys;

Paid Surveys
Paid surveys are an easy and convenient way to earn some extra cash during your maternity leave. There are plenty of survey websites out there, but not all of them are created equal. I have been exploring the world of paid surveys recently, and I must say, I feel like I was missing out! Surveys can range from 1 minute to 25 minutes (sometimes more) and cover a whole range of topics from shopping brands, to supermarket picks to politics and also quick polls that are fun and engaging. I was a skeptic!…seriously I was, but I have been very surprised at how much I can make in a week from doing a quick survey in the morning, a couple of polls in the early evening and when I have to sit in a waiting room or have a spare five minutes I have decided not to scroll on my phone but instead make some extra money.
Attapoll
One survey website that stands out is Attapoll. This website offers surveys on a wide range of topics, and they pay out in cash via PayPal. Plus, they have a low minimum payout threshold (Only £3), which means you can start earning money quickly. Here’s how you can get started with Attapoll;
It so quick and easy to set up, fill in your information and there are already surveys there to get started with, quite often you will see 1 minute surveys for 1p, these are the surveys to ‘get to know you’ so they can then show you surveys which are relevant and interesting to you. I must admit, I wasn’t so sure to start with so did a bit of research, used the app for a month to really see how it works and here are some top tips;
Do the 1p surveys…..you then get surveys you are interested in
The more surveys you do the more you get for future surveys (I had one that was £4.25 for a 17 minute survey) When you start you may see 13p, 17p but after about a week I noticed that this was creeping up and up so be patient & stay consistent and do a few a day in your first couple of weeks
One the best things about Attapoll is the payout is so quick, once you reach £3 you can just add your paypal email and the money arrives straight away….as the skeptic, I was so surprised how easy this was
You can refer your friends & family to make some extra money easily, you just have a link you can send them! How easy is that
Are there any cons to Attapoll? the only thing I have noticed is that sometimes you are ‘disqualified’ from a survey but this just means that you either don’t fit the criteria for what they are looking for or they have reached their numbers for what they need for that survey so do be prepared for that but the pros of this app outweigh that to be honest! if you try this out let me know how you get on! Appinio
Another great option for earning easy money through surveys is the Appinio app. This app allows you to participate in polls and surveys on a variety of topics, ranging from consumer products to political opinions. What’s great about Appinio is how easy it is to use. The app has a user friendly interface and the surveys are quick and straightforward, with most taking only a few minutes to complete. Plus, you can earn cions that can be redeemed for gift cards or cash via PayPal. The one thing I LOVE about Appinio is the ‘quickies’, these are very quick tap an answer polls and you can get through them so quickly, and you ‘level up’ every time and get extra coins (real cash) for every level. You can then do surveys too which range from a few minutes up to 20/25 minutes and they are generous with their coins. The threshold is a bit higher for Appinio, you can cash out at £10 instead of the £3 thershold with Attapoll but it is just as easy with paypal also. I really do enjoy this app (and so does my husband) and I really like that you can clearly see how much you are making.
Top Tips;
Do the ‘quickies’, even just for a few minutes, this levels you up (and, in my opinion, I think you end with more surveys)
Invite your friends and family then you earn even more, you can earn up to £25 from each person who uses your invite
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is another great way to earn money from home during your maternity leave. It is a form of online marketing where you promote someone else’s products or services and earn a commission for each sale that you refer. To get started with affiliate marketing, you’ll need to find an affiliate program that aligns with your interests (health & fitness, cooking, baking, software and so much more) and has products or services that you believe in. Some popular affiliate programs include Amazon Associates and ShareASale. Once you’ve signed up for an affiliate program, you can start promoting products on your blog, social media channels, or other online platforms. I have started this over the last few months as you may have seen many posts on ‘side hustles’ or the best side hustle on maternity leave or you can do this even if you are still in your 9-5 job. As with the surveys, I was skeptical then I dabbled, debated, felt overwhelmed and not sure how to get started, I even signed up to 3 courses, and the one that stood out to me was Zach Crawford’s course. It is easy to follow, straight to the point and gets you started on your affiliate marketing journey (some people call this digital marketing, or freelance digital marketing). The fact that the course is the price of a cup of coffee is an absolute bonus! After going through the 2 other courses I felt this is the one I learned the most from. You can start your journey straight away ($7 works out at about £5.50 depending on conversion rate);

One thing I would say is that it is so transformative to work on your money mindset also, it really does have so many benefits.
